Astronomers have captured a stunning image of the Crab Nebula, also known as Messier 1 or M1. This object, discovered by English astronomer John Bevis in the 18th century, earned its colloquial name when Anglo-Irish astronomer William Parsons observed and drew this object in the early 1840s, and it looked like a crab with arms.
